Who decides on which children are allocated a place?
Oldham Local Authority determines which secondary school is allocated to each child – it is not the decision of the school. The school does not have any influence over which children are offered places. The Local Authority offer places at The Radclyffe School based on the Admissions Policy

You must apply online through the Oldham Council website.

My child didn’t receive a place at The Radclyffe School. Can I appeal?
If the local authority cannot offer you a place at any of the schools requested, they will offer you a place at the nearest school to your home address which still has vacant places.
Parents have the right to appeal to an independent admission appeal panel. You should notify the clerk to the governors at the school within 14 days of receiving the letter refusing a place. Parents will have the opportunity to submit their case to the panel in writing and also to attend (currently virtually) in order to present their case. An appeal however does not guarantee you a place; since at the time you appeal 300 students will have already been offered a place at the school. If your appeal is unsuccessful, your child will be placed on the waiting list for the school.
How many children do you have on the waiting list for The Radclyffe School?
For September 2020, the school had over 200 students on the waiting list. A child’s position on the waiting list is determined in accordance with the oversubscription criteria on the Admissions Policy.
