This week, members of our Student Behaviour and Safety Team took part in a litter pick around the school grounds with Mrs Bott and Mrs Richardson. In just 20 minutes, the group collected five bags of litter, showing real pride in their school and a strong commitment to looking after the environment.
The team is made up of students from across all year groups who applied to join because they want to make a positive difference. They meet at least once each term and often lead projects and activities throughout the year that encourage responsibility, respect, and community spirit.
Alongside this week’s litter pick, the team are preparing to deliver assemblies during Welcome and Wellbeing Time. In November, their focus will be on what it means to be a good citizen within the community, followed by work around road safety later in the term.
While the team’s efforts were hugely successful, the amount of litter collected is a clear reminder of how quickly it can accumulate. Around school, general waste and recycling bins are available both inside and outside, including within Café Mojo, and all members of The Radclyffe School community are encouraged to use them.
This short period of action is something the students will continue throughout the year and forms part of a wider plan focused on behaviour and safety. Their ongoing efforts are helping to promote a culture of responsibility and care across the whole school.
We are very proud of how engaged these students are and the enthusiasm they show for making a difference. Activities like this highlight their dedication while reminding us all that even small actions can have a big impact when it comes to looking after our environment.
At The Radclyffe School, we believe it is important to be a positive member of the community, both inside and outside school, and to carry those good habits and behaviours with us wherever we go.
