Our GCSE Drama students recently impressed with their practical scripted PPE performances, tackling Medea by Splendid Productions. This bold version of the Greek tragedy uses Epic Theatre to explore big themes like discrimination, toxic masculinity, betrayal and revenge, and our students threw themselves into it with real energy and focus.
It was brilliant to see the enthusiasm they brought to the stage. Although they all worked from the same scripts, each performance felt different, with students putting their own spin on the characters and scenes.
Watching how they interpreted the roles and developed their characters was a real highlight, showing just how much thought and creativity went into their work.
There was a fantastic sense of teamwork throughout. Students supported each other, showing strong ensemble work and helping one another shine on stage.
As well as developing their acting skills, this project helped boost their confidence and build great working relationships. These are skills that will stay with them far beyond the drama studio.
