On Thursday, our entire Year 8 cohort took part in an inspiring Industry Day here at The Radclyffe School. Designed to broaden horizons and spark ambition, the day gave students the chance to engage with a wide range of employers, education providers and professionals from across different sectors.
From creative media and sport to public services, technology and further education, each session was tailored to provide meaningful insights into the world of work. The day helped students make valuable connections between their classroom learning and real-life careers. This event forms a key part of our ongoing commitment to preparing students for their futures by challenging stereotypes, raising aspirations and offering experiences that inform their choices.
This year’s event featured an exciting and diverse programme of workshops. Greater Manchester Police gave students a fascinating insight into the many roles within the force, including a lively competition to see who could gear up in tactical kit the fastest. Channel 4 delivered hands-on content creation sessions, while drone workshops introduced students to the world of cutting-edge technology.
We also welcomed guests from industries including engineering, education, finance, STEM, personal branding and hairdressing. All our visitors delivered engaging sessions that allowed students to explore a variety of career pathways and develop valuable skills for the future.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the visitors who made the day such a success:
NOV Fluid Motion Solutions, Greater Manchester Police, DNE Eko STEM, Barclays LifeSkills, Channel 4, Nimrah Thapper (TRS Alumni), OSFC, Dream Big Sports, Brand Identity and Evolve Hairdressing.
Here’s what some of our visitors had to say:
