Vision
The curriculum is designed to allow students to know and understand business concepts, allowing them to apply knowledge and understanding to contemporary business issues and to different types and sizes of businesses in local, national and global contexts. It aims to enable them to investigate and analyse real business opportunities and issues to construct well-argued, well-evidenced, balanced and structured arguments, demonstrating their depth and breadth of understanding of business. The students will develop and apply quantitative skills relevant to business, including using and interpreting data. The scheme of learning promotes independence, resilience, literacy and numeracy skills throughout the course.
Year 8 Curriculum Intent
By the end of Year 8 students will have knowledge of the marketing mix. They will be able to explain a range of pricing and promotional strategies. The aim of this is to introduce business concepts through digital literacy.

Year 9 Curriculum Intent
By the end of Year 9 students will have knowledge of market research and market segmentation, market mapping and e- commerce. Again, students are taught business knowledge but use digital literacy skills to create questionnaires, graphs and charts, a website and graphics creation.

Year 10 Curriculum Intent
In year 10 students learn key business concepts, issues and skills involved in starting and running a small business. It provides a framework for students to explore core concepts through the lens of an entrepreneur setting up a business. students will be introduced to local and national business contexts and will develop an understanding of how these contexts impact business behaviour and decisions. Local contexts refer specifically to small businesses or those operating in a single UK location.

Year 11 Curriculum Intent
In year 11 students look at business concepts on a larger scale they look at what it takes to grow a business it looks at large multinationals and businesses operating in local, national and global contexts.
