At The Radclyffe School, our Teaching Assistants are at the heart of our school community, playing a vital role in helping our SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) learners thrive.
From supporting lessons and delivering targeted interventions, to building strong relationships that boost confidence, our TAs provide a friendly, supportive presence whenever it’s needed most.
We’re pleased to share a short video, created as part of our work with Oldham Council, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at this incredible support.
Charlotte Wiener, one of our dedicated TAs, explains the difference their training makes:
“Thanks to the training delivered by our SENCO, Guddy Ara, we’ve been able to put in adaptive strategies for our students within the SEND department.”
“We’re able to break down barriers to learning more often, ensuring that all of our students receive a fair education and achieve their full potential.”
The impact of this support is clear from the students themselves. Elisha, in Year 11, reflects on how having a TA has changed her learning experience:
“Without TA support I was very dysregulated in lessons, and I didn’t really understand the work, and with TA support I now have a book full of work and time to be able to understand what the work is.”
Year 10 student Ethan shares a similar perspective:
“Previously I did not have TA support in my lessons which means I had knowledge gaps. Now I’ve started having interventions.”
These insights highlight the difference a dedicated Teaching Assistant can make — helping students feel understood, supported, and confident in their learning.
The short video captures just a glimpse of the care, expertise, and commitment that our SEND team brings to the classroom every day.
We are incredibly grateful to our fantastic Teaching Assistants for the positive impact they have on our students’ education and wellbeing.
