The Radclyffe School began Anti-Bullying Week with a very special visitor this morning. Singer and songwriter Casey McQuillen, former American Idol contestant and passionate advocate for young people, performed for our Key Stage 3 students as part of her UK & Ireland “You Matter” Tour.
The tour, which has already reached over 500,000 students across the USA and Europe, combines live musical performances with an important message about kindness, empathy, and standing up to bullying.
Recognised by the UN Foundation and recently featured on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the tour has become a powerful platform for encouraging young people to consider the impact of their words and actions.
During her visit, Casey performed a mix of her own songs alongside popular hits, captivating students with her incredible talent, energy, and stage presence. Between songs, she shared personal stories from her journey—challenges, triumphs, and lessons learned—that resonated deeply with the students.
Her openness provided a relatable and inspiring perspective, reminding everyone that even small acts of unkindness can have lasting effects.
Staff and students reflected on the importance of kindness, empathy, and supporting one another, recognising that our words and actions matter in ways we cannot always anticipate.
The Radclyffe School is proud to host events like this, which encourage students to embrace these values and help create a safe and supportive school community.
Casey McQuillen’s visit was more than a performance; it was a meaningful experience that left a lasting impression, setting a thoughtful and positive tone for the week ahead.
