Our Drama Club students are making brilliant strides, exploring creativity, collaboration, and performance skills through exciting, ongoing projects across all year groups. Students in Years 7 to 10 enjoy enrichment through clubs and lessons, while Year 11 are focused on preparing for their upcoming assessments.
Year 7 and 8 students have dived into a new ensemble project under the direction of Mrs Payne. Each student has a speaking role as they bring their characters to life, developing a performance piece in collaboration with the Oldham Performing Arts Network, set to be showcased at the Secondary Schools Drama Festival in Oldham next February.
This week, they focused on ensemble shapes and rehearsing their first lines, demonstrating real creativity and teamwork.
The project is growing week by week, and it has been inspiring to see how quickly students have adapted, supported one another, and embraced the process.
Meanwhile, Year 9 and 10 Drama Enrichment students enjoyed an energising after-school session with Faz and Billy from Oldham Theatre Workshop as part of the Satellite Project.
They experimented with devising techniques, movement, voice, and storytelling to create original material, building a unique performance that will be shared with parents in November.
It has been fantastic to see our Drama Club students engaging so enthusiastically, developing confidence, collaboration, and creativity both on and off the stage. We can’t wait to see how these ongoing projects continue to evolve in the weeks ahead.
