This letter was sent as an accompanying letter to the Covid-19 vaccination consent letter on 25th January 2022.
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are writing to inform you that we will soon be offering COVID-19 vaccinations in your child’s school.
All children aged 12 and over who are eligible, will have the opportunity to receive their first or second vaccine on the day the school-aged vaccination team are delivering the vaccination programme in your child’s school. Parents will be contacted regarding consent via MyEd/Text message from school.
If your child (any age) does not receive the vaccination in school and they are eligible for the vaccination, there are several ways you can access this.
The preferred option is to Book online at; www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or call 119 for an appointment
or
Walk-in Centres within the Oldham area are available (facilitation of vaccination will be at the practitioner’s discretion on attendance. Please see links below for information).

If your Child is in Year 7 and is not yet 12, there will be an opportunity for your child to receive the vaccine via the NHS hubs, Parents will be able to use the above links to access this immunisation when they are eligible.
If your child is in year 11 or above and has already turned 16, they should have already been offered a vaccination via a community site. Information about sites offering vaccinations to those over 16 years is above or alternative information can be found at Find a walk-in coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination site – NHS (www.nhs.uk) .
In schools which have a Sixth Form cohort , those children who took up the initial offer of first COVID -19 vaccination, will be able to receive their second vaccination in the school session.
If your child has tested positive for COVID-19, they need to wait 12 weeks before they can have a COVID vaccination. This 12 weeks starts from the date of their positive PCR test.
