The role of Learning Mentors at The Radclyffe School is to work with staff and families to identify barriers to learning and support with removing these barriers and overcoming difficulties. There are occasions when some students struggle due to circumstances in or out of school and as a result need some additional support. Our dedicated team of five Learning Mentors works with identified students on a one to one basis or in small groups with an over all aim to raise aspirations and ensure students have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
The Learning Mentors work with students to provide support, motivation and guidance that helps individuals overcome a range of barriers and feel safe and happy in school. Within the learning Mentors, a Trauma Informed Approach is used ensuring that students feel heard and understood when experiencing difficulties. Learning Mentors deliver a range of interventions to support our students and evaluate the success of these interventions frequently.
