Hello. My name is Mr Halls. I am a Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for the curriculum. This means that it is my role is to oversee everything to do with what students learn and how they learn it.
At The Radclyffe School we believe that the knowledge students gain whilst here is vital in providing them with the best possible chance of success in life. We are committed to providing young people with the very highest quality of education.
All children deserve the very best in order to fulfil their potential; we believe that academic success, complemented with life-enriching experiences will prepare them for success now and in the future.
Our vision is that every student who attends The Radclyffe School will have access to the knowledge that will not only allow them to learn the essential things across a range of subjects that enables them to build on this knowledge in the future and use it to make sense of the world around them.
We want all our students, no matter what their background or previous experiences, to leave this school as well qualified, resilient, independent and confident young adults, ready to make a positive contribution to society. In a rapidly changing world we feel strongly that our students should show adaptability and resilience as well as kindness, respect and tolerance of other people from all faiths, cultures and backgrounds.
At The Radclyffe School, students study a broad range of subjects in-line with the national curriculum throughout Year 7, 8 and 9. During this time students will experience all the subjects that the school has to offer, therefore this provides them with the foundation of knowledge and experiences they need. In Year 10 and 11, students continue to study the core subjects of English, Maths and Science, but choose which other subjects they wish to study in more depth at GCSE. Throughout their time at the school students will take part in physical education as part of promoting their health and well-being as well as developing essential skills and knowledge through the Citizenship and Values programme.
You can find out more details about the curriculum studied in individual subjects by clicking on the different areas of the school map on the virtual open evening tour.
I hope you enjoy your tour and I look forward to meeting many of you in person in the future.
