The Radclyffe School is offering a Chromebook laptop to support students’ home learning for those who need one. Before booking a collection appointment, please read the key terms carefully:
-
One-time allocation – Each student can receive one Chromebook only. No replacements or additional devices will be provided.
-
Condition of device – Devices are issued “as seen”. Most have been previously used and may show light cosmetic marks. Battery life varies; some devices may need to be used while plugged in.
-
Permanent gift – The Chromebook becomes your child’s property and does not need to be returned to the school, even when they leave.
-
No warranty or repairs – The school will not provide maintenance, repairs or replacements. Families must arrange and pay for any repairs themselves.
-
Logging in – Your child will need to log in using a personal Google account (new or existing).
-
School work – We recommend that all schoolwork is saved in the student’s school OneDrive account (accessible on the Chromebook once configured). Before leaving the school, they must back up any files they wish to keep.
-
Online safety – The Chromebook is not filtered or monitored by the school. We strongly advise parents/carers to set up Google Family Link or similar parental controls and to supervise internet use.
Availability of Laptops
-
The Chromebooks are now ready for collection
-
Once all laptops have been collected there will be NO MORE available.
Important – Outstanding Loaned Laptops
If your family previously borrowed a school laptop and did not return it as previously requested, this must be returned before you book an appointment to collect a Chromebook.
Booking a Collection Appointment
To ensure that as many students who genuinely need a device can be provided with one, please book a collection appointment only if your child does not already have sufficient access to a suitable device for home learning.
At the collection appointment, the parent/carer collecting the laptop will need to sign the Chromebook Agreement confirming that they understand and accept these terms.
