Dear Year 6 Pupil and Parents/Carers,
Year 7 first day back, Wednesday 2nd September 2026.
We would like to inform you about the plans for the first day back for year 7 students.
Please can students arrive at school on Wednesday 2nd September at the usual time i.e. 8:20am. They will be the only year group in the school until 11:10am. Students will be directed into school where they will line up in PLG groups. After an assembly, they will then spend most of the day with their PLG group completing various tasks to help induct them to our school. This will include sessions using their ‘The Odyssey’ book and transition reading project booklet – please send this in with your child for the day. The final lesson of the day will be their normal timetabled lesson. Please ensure that students are dressed in FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM including blazer and tie.
On the day, students will be supported by various members of staff and also our school peer mentors. We will do our absolute upmost to make sure that they make a positive transition to high school and feel safe and supported in our school community.
Please can I ask that prior to Wednesday 2nd September that you take some time to set up your parent pay account. details of this have been sent by email. If you wish your child to have a meal in school on Wednesday 2nd September it is VITAL you do this, or they will not be able to purchase food or have free school meal funds transferred to their account. Of course, you may also provide your child with a packed lunch, and this can be eaten in the school café.
Please can I also take this opportunity to remind you to sign up for the school educational visit to Linnet Clough which is taking place on the 25th of September, details of which have been emailed to you separately.
I hope this information alleviates any concerns and worries you may have and we very much look forward to seeing you on the 2nd September.
If you have any specific queries in the meantime, please contact us at [email protected].
