Dear Year 6 Pupil and Parents/Carers,
We would like to provide you with the finalised details of our plans for our new Year 7 students on the 7th and 8th September.
Tuesday 7th September – Year 7 Induction Day. Only year 7 students will be in school on this day and placed in their PLG groups for the full day where they will take part in a number of fun transition activities, including completing a transition passport, which they will bring home to share with you
Students need to:
- Be at the student entrance for 8:35am.
- Be in their school PE kit (NOT the normal classroom uniform) due to the nature of some enrichment activities taking place that day this is more appropriate.
- Bring their school stationery and equipment
- If possible, it would be great if your son/daughter could bring their copy of “Go Big” with them.
Please collect your child at 2:50pm, which is their normal school finishing time.
Wednesday 8th September – Year 7 only until 11:20am
Please, once again bring your child to school for 8:35am, this time in Full school uniform (Shirt, tie, blazer, trousers or skirt). In the morning, students will be given their school planner, talked through their timetable and have key school routines explained to them. School will finish on Wednesday at the normal time of 2:50pm.
On both days, students will be supported by various members of staff and also our school peer mentors. We will do our absolute upmost to make sure that they make a positive transition to high school and feel safe and supported in our school community.
Please can I ask that prior to Tuesday 7th September that you take some time to set up your parent pay account. details of this have been sent by email. If you wish your child to have a meal in school on Tuesday 7th September or Wednesday 8th September it is VITAL you do this, or they will not be able to purchase food or have free school meal funds transferred to their account.
Of course, you may also provide your child with a packed lunch and this can be eaten in the school café.
I hope this information alleviates any concerns and worries you may have and we very much look forward to meeting you.
If you have any specific queries in the meantime, please contact us at [email protected].
Take care of yourselves and stay safe,
Yours faithfully,

Mr J Cregg
