Dear Parents/Carers,
Throughout your child’s time here at The Radclyffe School there will be key points where they will have to make some key decisions about their future plans. With this in mind, we wish to draw your attention to some key dates and opportunities for your child to get involved in.
- Oldham Careers Fair: An opportunity for year 11 students to explore their post-16 options. The event will take place at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham on Tuesday 24th September 3pm – 6pm.
- Post 16 Talks in Personal Development lessons: All students will receive an academic and vocational talk form a Post 16 provider in their Personal Development lesson.
- School Careers Fair Friday 4th October: All students in Year 11 will be brought down to the hall during lesson time, here they will have the opportunity to meet with over 20 local Colleges, Sixth Forms and Apprenticeship/Training Providers. We expect students to use this to find out about College facilities, performance, location, course availability and entry criteria.
- Year 11 Parent’s Evening Thursday 7th November 4:30pm – 7:30pm: Local Colleges (Oldham Sixth Form College, Oldham College, Hopwood Hall and Manchester College) are invited and will be based on Level 2 for you to speak to, as well as both of our Careers Advisers.
- Internal College Application Deadline Monday 11th November: All college applications need to be submitted online; college applications will go live from early October 2024.
During the course of the Autumn term, all students will receive further information on A Levels, Vocational Courses and Apprenticeships in their Personal Development lesson. In addition, students are able to drop into the Personal Development Hub every lunch and break time for further support.
