Dear Parent/Carer,
As you are aware, Year 11 final in-class assessments have been running for several weeks. The vast majority of these assessments have now been completed.
This morning we have taken the decision that students should now study from home. There are still a number of very important assessments that students have depending on their option subjects. If this is the case for your child they should continue to prepare carefully and attend school for these assessments (further details below).
The official school leaving date is Friday 25th June. Between now and this date we are offering an online Progression Curriculum for post 16 support. This curriculum is designed to meet the progression needs of students and support their next steps during the final weeks of the school year. Please see our website for further details.
If you are in possession of one of the school loaned laptops you may need to keep this device until the end of June to access the Progression Curriculum. However, if the laptop is not required it can be returned to the main school office from Monday 7th June. The deadline for returning laptops is Wednesday 30th June. When returning the laptop, please ensure you return the laptop, charger and storage case. Please be aware that if the laptop is not returned by this date you will be invoiced for the full cost of the laptop as set out in the loan agreement.
All the assessments that were planned for the remainder of today have been rescheduled for tomorrow. A timetable of the rescheduled assessments and the other remaining assessments is below. If your child is required to attend school for an assessment you will receive a text message with details of when they need to attend school. They must attend school in their full school uniform. If they do not, we reserve the right to refuse entry – this will mean the assessment will be missed and it could have an impact on their GCSE grade.
Any unspent funds on students’ Café Mojo accounts will be refunded to your ParentPay account. Information on how to transfer this money back to your card or bank account can be found on the ParentPay website (https://www.parentpay.com/how-do-i-withdraw-money-my-account/)
Unfortunately, because of the current restrictions, we are unable to have or plan for the usual activities that are arranged to mark the end of students’ time at The Radclyffe School. Obviously, we are saddened by this but we are hopeful that Presentation Evening will take place as planned in the Autumn term and will provide an opportunity to celebrate.
We wish your child every success for the future. GCSE results day is on Thursday 12th August. We will contact you closer to the time to give you further details.
Yours faithfully,
Mr M Halls
Deputy Headteacher
