Applying to universities, or for courses, that have complex application processes, involving entrance exams and interviews, is daunting for students. But it is daunting for parents and carers too.
On Thursday 25 June (from 7pm), Dr Richard Lee, Assistant Principal at Oldham Sixth Form College (OSFC), will be offering a ‘virtual’ session to demystify the process of applying to Oxford or Cambridge University, or for competitive courses, such as Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science or Law. He will also explain OSFC’s support mechanisms for students.
This session would have run, in person, for the parents and carers of Year 12 students at OSFC, but, given the current circumstances, is being offered remotely. As a result, it is also being offered to parents/carers of aspirational students in Years 10 and 11 at our local partner schools to give an early insight into the processes and support available. It is never too early to start thinking about it.
If you would like access to the presentation, then please email Richard – rle@osfc.ac.uk. Please give your name and that of your son/daughter, which school or academy they attend, and which year they are in. The college/Richard is looking forward to connecting with of many as you as possible!
