Dear Parent/Carer
We are organising a visit out of school for our new year 7 students. I am writing to let you know the details and to seek your consent for your child.
All of year 7 will be spending a day off site focusing on outdoor activities such as bushcraft, archery and pioneering. The visit represents a fantastic opportunity for teambuilding early on in your child’s secondary education, and will help them form friendships and work together with others in their year group.
Visit Location: Waddow Hall, Clitheroe
Date of Visit: Friday 29th September 2023
Transport Arrangements: We will be leaving school at approximately 9am on the Friday morning. Students should arrive at school at the normal time of 8:20am. The journey to Waddow Hall by coach will take approximately one hour. Students will leave Waddow Hall no later than 3:15pm and arrive back at school for collection at 4:15pm.
Costs and Payment: The total cost of this visit, if you feel able to contribute, is £11. This is a payment towards the transport by coach. All other costs of the visit (activities, packed lunch) will be covered by the school.
All payments must be paid through the ParentPay system online. (Parents/carers may apply for financial assistance for this visit. Applications are particularly encouraged if your child has been in receipt of Free School Meals in the last 6 years. The form to complete is attached to this letter.)
Consent: Must be given via ParentPay. Even if you cannot contribute the £11, you must still give consent for your child to attend the trip. By giving consent you are confirming that:
- All contact details held by the school are up to date and correct.
- All Medical information held by the school is up to date and accurate
- There has been no change to any details held by the school
You must notify the school of any changes to the details listed above before you give consent on ParentPay.
Activities: Waddow Hall provides a number of outdoor education opportunities. As part of the day, students will take part in two instructor led activities and one self-led activity. Instructor led activities include bushcraft, archery, abseiling and fencing. Self-led activities include grass-sledging, pioneering and use of a games zone.
STUDENTS SHOULD WEAR SCHOOL PE KIT ON THE DAY AND BRING WATERPROOFS IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER.
Lunch: A grab bag will be provided by the school. Alternatively, students can bring their own packed lunch.
Contact Details during the Visit: In the event of an emergency contact can be made during the school day via the school office – 0161 622 3200.
If you agree to your child attending this visit, you MUST give consent via ParentPay by Monday 17th July 2023.
