Dear Year 9 Parent/carer,
We are coming to a very important point in your son/daughter’s education. Shortly they will be moving into Key Stage 4 and begin studying towards GCSE level qualifications.
Some of the courses that they will study, for example English and Maths, are part of the core curriculum and are therefore compulsory. However, students need to choose between two and four additional subjects that they will study in year 10 and 11.
I would like to invite you to our Year 9 Options Evening that will happen on Tuesday 23rd March at 6.30pm. Due to Covid restrictions, the evening will take place online. It is very important that you and your son/ daughter attend. There will be a presentation which will tell you everything that you need to know about how the options process works, and you will be given additional information to help your son/daughter to make good choices. There will also be an opportunity to speak to subject specialists from all the option subjects about the courses and the way in which they are assessed.
About a week before this event, we will send out a weblink that you should use to access the online meeting. However, please reserve this date and time in your diary in preparation.
Yours sincerely,

Mr M Halls
Deputy Headteacher
