Yesterday, The Radclyffe School was proud to host the BAE Systems STEM Roadshow for our Year 7 and 8 students. This exciting programme, now in its 20th year, is run in partnership with the RAF and the Royal Navy to inspire young minds and showcase the real-world impact of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
As part of National Apprenticeship Week, this event highlighted the importance of STEM skills in future careers, demonstrating how technology and innovation are shaping the world around us. The interactive session brought Artificial Intelligence (AI) to life, with students using AI to create their own songs and music videos, all with the help of Fluffy, the AI robot dog!
Mr Brown, Head of Design Technology, shared his thoughts on the event: “Artificial Intelligence is already making a tremendous impact across the globe. The presentation introduced AI as a tool that can be embraced with just as much enthusiasm as Google was five years ago.
The Roadshow demonstrated useful applications of AI for both teachers and pupils while also stressing how important human skills are in maximising AI’s potential in our lives.”

The presentation team also showcased established AI tools and helped students understand the dangers of deep fakes and misinformation. They explained how AI can be a valuable learning tool for both teachers and students, giving everyone the opportunity to use technology safely and effectively.
Mr Brown continued, “It was a show full of surprises and insight, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges AI presents. The Roadshow encouraged the safe adoption of AI tools and demonstrated how they can be harnessed for learning and innovation, today and in the future.”

At The Radclyffe School, we believe that equipping our students with the knowledge and skills to embrace technological advancements is essential. Opportunities like this inspire curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving—all vital for success in the modern world. Access to unique assemblies and workshops such as the BAE Systems STEM Roadshow ensures our students are engaged, informed, and prepared for the future.
A huge thank you to BAE Systems, the RAF, and the Royal Navy for delivering such an engaging and inspiring experience.
