There was a fantastic atmosphere in school one lunchtime this month as staff and students went head-to-head in a lively netball match in support of Sports Relief.
From the first whistle, the game was played in great spirit but with clear determination from both sides. The students made an impressive start, quickly building a strong 5–1 lead thanks to sharp passing, confident movement and accurate shooting. Their teamwork and composure under pressure highlighted just how much skill and talent there is within the student squad.
However, the staff team were not ready to give in. As the match progressed, they began to find their rhythm, tightening up their defence and making the most of their opportunities in attack. The closing stages were particularly tense, with the momentum shifting and the outcome very much in the balance.
In a dramatic finish, Mr Waugh scored a last-minute goal on the final whistle to secure a 5–4 victory for the staff team.
The excitement was matched on the sidelines, where students and staff created a brilliant atmosphere with enthusiastic cheering and support for both teams throughout. The sense of community was evident, with plenty of encouragement, laughter and friendly rivalry on display.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who took part in the match, as well as those who came along to support.
The event not only provided a great lunchtime spectacle but also raised an incredible £294 for Sports Relief. This fantastic total reflects the generosity and spirit of our school community, coming together to support an important national cause.
