A reminder to parents/carers and students regarding the reopening of school in September 2021.
School opens for our NEW Year 7 students only on Tuesday 7th September 2021 at 8.35am. Years 8 – 11 will be set remote learning to be done at home on this day.
On Wednesday 8th September 2021 school opens to ALL students with Year 7 arriving at 8.35 am and Years 8 – 11 at 11.10am.
As per Government guidance, when students return in September 2021 they will be tested using Lateral Flow Devices in the same way that in-school testing was carried out during the last school year.
Consent for students to take these tests will be based on parental consent provided for previous testing sessions and for students in the new year 7 who have consented to testing on the form sent by school to parents/carers via email over the summer break.
We also ask that students should continue with their home lateral flow testing before they return to school and twice a week.
This is to help protect students, staff and families and keep cases of COVID-19 as low as possible in our community.
Students must enter through the following entrances when they arrive at school in the morning. These entrances will remain the same through the whole school year
Year 11 Entrance: Gates down side of new sports hall --> Fire Escape Staircase to 3B (Science)
Year 10 Entrance: Visitors’ Reception --> Spiral Staircase to L3 (Maths)
Year 9 Entrance: Visitors’ Entrance --> Fire Exit Staircase to 2B10 / 2B11 (English)
Year 8 Entrance: Student Entrance (Left hand side)
Year 7 Entrance: Student Entrance (Right hand side)
All students in Years 8 - 11 were sent an email at the end of the last academic year which informed them of their PLG room for the new school year. They should go straight to these rooms at 11.10am on Wednesday 8th September. (This is the same room as their TeamPLG session that takes place at 8.35am every day on their timetable).
Timetables for students are now visible on the school Intranet. Students can view these by clicking on the "Login" button at the top of the school website and logging in with their school username and password.
Students do not need to print their timetables out at home as they will be handed out in the first sessions back in school.
