Dear Parent/carer,
We are pleased to be able to welcome parents and carers of Year 9 students into school to attend our Options Evening on Monday 21st March. This is a very important event in our calendar and it is essential that parents accompany their child to this evening.
There will be two presentations. The first will be at 6.30pm and the second will be at 7.30pm. Both presentations will cover the same information and you are welcome to attend the one that is at the most convenient time for you. However, please be aware that due to COVID restrictions, the numbers in each presentation will be limited and we may have to restrict entry if numbers exceed the maximum limit. Please arrive early to ensure that you get a seat.
The evening will give you an opportunity to understand the range of qualifications available for your child and help you to become familiar with how our Options system operates. Senior staff and subject teachers will also be available for you to consult about requirements of the Key Stage 4 courses. Representatives from Positive Steps and Post-16 colleges will also be available throughout the evening for you to discuss progression pathways.
The Options booklet which containing a description of the courses and the Option Form will be given out on the evening.
