Dear parents and students,
You will be aware that the decision has been made not to assess GCSE grades this year via the usually summer exams. Instead, grades will be determined via teacher assessment.
As yet, there has not been a final decision about the assessment of non-GCSE qualifications. On Wednesday 13th January some students are due sit an external exam for the OCR National Enterprise and Marketing qualification.
The decision on whether to go ahead with this exam has been given to schools. The guidance is clear that the exam should only go ahead if schools ‘judge it right to do so’. It is our judgement that it is in the students’ best interest that the they have the opportunity to sit this paper and we are confident that this can be done in a safe way. For these reasons, the examination on Wednesday 13th January 2021 WILL go ahead. Students should report to Student Reception at 9am. They will be escorted into school. Students will be required to remain socially distanced whilst in the building and will leave directly at the end of the examination.
Yours sincerely,
Mr M Halls
Deputy Headteacher
