Dear Year 9 Parents and carers,
All Year 9 students will be sitting their CAT 4 Level F tests next week commencing 22nd June 2023. Please note dates and times below:

| Thurs 22nd June | Periods 1, 3 and 5. | Periods 2 and 4 |
| Friday 23rd June | Period 4 |
Each test will be taken under formal test conditions in computer-based classrooms during students’ regular timetabled lessons.
Students need to;
- sit 3 separate digital tests (Part 1,2 and 3) in designated computer suites below
- respect the formal assessment and test conditions in each session
- be based in the same practical group for each session so they don’t duplicate any test part
- go to their normal timetabled lesson when not being tested

All students have had an assembly this week about the tests but please do remind them through this letter.
CAT4 is a series of short digital tests designed to assess a student’s reasoning (thinking) abilities in key areas that’s support educational development and academic attainment. It is designed to give a much broader, more rounded view of each child, their potential and how they learn.
Students do not need to revise for these tests as they are not a measure of subject specific, curriculum knowledge.
The data that CAT4 Level F produces help us to identify students’ learning styles, so that teachers can continue to plan appropriately to meet students’ learning needs. It will also support us in setting GCSE targets for the end of Year 11.
