Dear Year 6 Pupil and Parents/Carers,
We would like to provide you with an update in response to the government announcements made on Monday 14th June 2021 regarding COVID restrictions. Unfortunately, based on the advice provided by the Local Authority we are no longer able to run our planned, face-to-face Induction Day on 30th June or the New Parents Evening event on the 1st July.
We realise that things may seem uncertain at the moment and you will no doubt be worrying. We would therefore like to reassure you that The Radclyffe School are doing everything they can to ensure you feel prepared to start school in September. Firstly, The Radclyffe School website is continuously being updated and is an excellent place to find answers and information you may need. It can also be found by clicking here.
In the near future we will be sending out information packs for both new students and parents/carers which will contain all the key information you would have received from the planned events. There will also be a dedicated “Virtual Induction Day” page created on the school website full of videos, information and activities for students to engage with and ease their concerns about moving to secondary school. Additionally, all new Year 7 students will shortly be receiving a book, which will be delivered to their primary school. This book is being provided to support both literacy and wellbeing for our students. It has been written to ease the stress and anxieties of the transition process and is suitable for both carer and child to read.
You can also sign up for a free online course which will focus on how to help children deal with the change and uncertainty at this important time in their school life. Information on this course can be found on the school website or by clicking here.
We are in the process of finalising the details on how we will be adapting our events and making them accessible to everyone. However, for now, we just wanted to send you a message to let you know we are thinking of you and are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our school later in the year. If you have any specific queries in the meantime please contact us at [email protected].
Take care of yourselves and stay safe,
Yours faithfully,

Mr J Cregg
