National Careers Week – 1st- 6th March 2021
National Careers Week is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year, from 1st– 6th March, a year when hope for the future and belief in the potential of careers is needed more than ever.
We recognise that a lot of our young people and families are experiencing feelings of worry or uncertainty around future careers. You and your family, like most of us, have perhaps wondered if career opportunities will be effected by the pandemic, and what that might mean for the future of young people.
Here at TRS want to encourage families to have conversations about careers and the future, especially this year in these challenging times. You can support young people to start exploring, spark their curiosity and build hope for their future by talking about careers during National Careers Week.
We have some resources to help. These can be found here.
- Information on many careers from over 40 National organisation, including our supporters the Natwest Group and NHS Health Careers
- An online virtual careers fair taking place on Wednesday 3rd March
- A short “Believe” film, created to support young people to imagine and believe in their potential
- A short “Hope” film with stress and wellbeing resources. This features young people talking about their hopes and anxieties for the future. Wellbeing advice and practical tips on managing feelings of stress is provided by GP and broadcaster Dr Radha Modgil.
In addition to this we have a whole host of events that will be being emailed to students on a daily basis – Please see our NCW 2021 Plan. Please encourage your child to take up these amazing opportunities and support them in becoming future and work read
