Hi! My name is Amaar and I currently hold the position as Head Student of this outstanding school.
I personally believe that there are 3 main factors as to why this school shines above every other secondary school in Oldham. The first is the consistent support for a student’s education, the second are the student enrichment activities and the third is about the endless variety of social opportunities available outside of lessons.
Firstly, the Education:
Here at The Radclyffe School, students are constantly being guided, motivated and inspired by the exceptional teaching methods and staff who are specifically chosen due to their phenomenal ability to help and aid others. Everyone’s voices are heard, allowing students to clearly express their problems and questions, leading to a safe and secure environment where not a single student suffers in silence. Furthermore, tasks and activities such as revision classes are done to ensure students are well-prepared for future exams. Teachers here don’t just care about their own pay checks, they mainly care about your grades, your future and your mental health. As a result, every student is guaranteed a high chance of achieving their personal goals. Wouldn’t you want to be supported thoroughly throughout your 5 year journey?
Next, the Student Enrichment Activities:
At The Radclyffe School, we emphasise the significance of student enrichment activities and value the importance it has to cultivate unknown skills and qualities. At this school, students are provided with exceptional roles and events in order to not only make their CV look incredible, but to also develop social skills, boost confidence and prepare them to step into the real world. A few examples of activities which I have take part in include: The role of Head Student/Deputy Head Student, (Experience with public speaking) being a part of student leadership groups, (Developing social skills), taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh programme (Endurance), Taking part in HOBY UK (Collaboration), Varsity Trips (An insight to the life of college) and so much more. Although students experience these activities for a short period of time, they are left with remarkable qualities that last for the rest of their lives.
Now, the part that students find the most memorable, the Social Opportunities:
These past 5 years have been the best 5 years of my entire life, and it’s all thanks to this school right here. Here at The Radclyffe School, we strive to reward those students who put their exceptional efforts into their studies to motivate them even further. This is achieved by the exciting social opportunities, all of which funded by our school. As a result, this school has offered me an endless amount of social opportunities, too many for me to even take. But me, personally, I tried to take as many as I could. Examples of activities I have taken part in range from working out in the school gym, to many sports clubs such as football, basketball, badminton, and even rock climbing. Moreover, examples of reward trips include ice skating on an ice rink, to a thrilling game of bowling with friends. Want even more examples of how exciting our school can be? How about where a small group of students hike in the blissful countryside for 2 whole days, to a residential in Disneyland France for a whole week! A student’s efforts are always noticed, so events like these show gratitude and appreciation for their hard work.
Overall, I think it’s safe to say that there is an exceptional amount of activities and events that you can be involved in. There is so much to take part in, so many things to see and do, and most importantly, there is something for everyone to take part in, no matter what your interests are. You won’t feel left out, instead feel reassured that the members of staff are by your side, helping you achieve the grades you want with a healthy mindset. Just remember, here at this outstanding school, there’s more than just a pen on a paper.
