We said, “Donate what you can, take what you need.” You have responded brilliantly – a huge thank you to everyone who has let us find a new home for their blazers, ties, shirts, skirts and trousers. We’ve also collected a supply of PE kit for boys and girls. So far we have been given more than 100 items of clothing, all of which have been cleaned and ironed ready for reuse.
We are all facing increasing financial pressures at the moment, so it makes sense to get the best use out of all items of uniform, especially as students grow and need to replace clothes that no longer fit them. It is also doing a little bit for the environment to avoid disposing of these items. All the items we have had donated are cleaned and ironed, ready to be reworn.
We will be opening the Uniform Exchange in the fourth week of August (from Monday 22nd) for anyone who would like to take advantage of the offer. To collect clothing items you must be a parent or carer of a current student at the school.
We have made some small changes to the uniform policy for the new school year.
- The black school blazer should have The Radclyffe School badge
- Shirts must be tucked inside trousers
- The KS3 tie is black and red striped. The KS4 tie is black, red and white
- Plain black, grey or white socks may be worn, for both boys and girls
- Shoes with sports logos are not acceptable
- For PE, boys and girls may wear The Radclyffe School red t-shirt. Girls may wear plain black sports leggings
- We would like to remind you that mobile phones, airpods and other electrical equipment are not allowed in school and if seen or heard, will be confiscated.
- Aerosol deodorants and aerosol fragrances are not pemitted.
- Students should not bring into school any items that may be a threat to the health and safety of themselves or others, e.g. laser pens, e-cigarettes, vape pens, knives or imitation guns. If students are found in possession of a dangerous item they risk exclusion.
We are grateful for your support in ensuring our students follow the high standards of uniform that we expect of our students. The full uniform policy is available on the school website.
