Dear Parents and Carers,
We are pleased and happy to let you know that The Radclyffe School has received our Academy Order. This means that the Department for Education has approved our becoming part of The Cranmer Education Trust. The Governing Body set this course for The Radclyffe School in 2022-23 to ensure that, in the rapidly changing education environment, the future and security of our school is safe in partnership within a strong, high-quality local trust which shares our vision and values and always puts the interests of the young people first.
The Cranmer Education Trust (CET) includes the following schools:
- The Blue Coat School
- The Brian Clarke CE Academy
- St Anne’s CE Academy
- Mayfield Primary School
- East Crompton St George’s Primary School
3 more primaries are in the process of joining the trust:
- St Matthew’s CE Primary School received their Academy Order on the same day as The Radclyffe
- St John’s Thornham Primary School
- Little Heaton CE Primary School
The trust also runs a big Teacher Training and Development Hub which The Radclyffe School is part of. We are partners in the Languages Hub. Since last September we have worked closely with CET on aspects of school improvement, and from January, we are buying into the trust’s HR advice. The relationship of family is continuously strengthening and deepening.
Following the Academy Order, we will see more senior trust staff in our school as we work through all the detail of the conversion. By the time we convert, the foundations we are putting in place will ensure the transition is smooth and seamless.
The next stage of the journey is a detailed forensic checking process, to ensure that our staff are all properly transferred to the new employer and that all legal contractual issues are absolutely clear and settled. We will also be holding a formal consultation in the autumn term of 2024 when we will ask for your questions and views. In the meantime, we have put a number of Frequently Asked Questions on our website which we will add to as we go along..
This is a really important step in The Radclyffe’s journey to become part of a strong and high-quality trust where we can maintain our school’s distinctiveness and character, and together we will be able to ensure all our young people get the best education and care.
Yours sincerely
SUE WEBB JOHN CREGG
