A buzz of election fever surrounded the school as the end of term approached, as we sought to appoint our new Student Leadership Team for 2022-23.
Following the appointment last month of our Prefects, nineteen students have put themselves forward, and after a vote of students and staff, the process reached its conclusion with the students interviewed by Headteacher Mr Cregg and other members of staff. Student Leadership Team has now officially taken up its duties in school.
Congratulations to new Head Boy James Walsh and Head Girl Fatima Tamanna. Supporting them will be Deputy Head Girls Husneara Begum and Daisy Greenwood, and Deputy Head Boys Damola Fasua and Imamul Hoque.
The student leadership team are role models for students in all year groups. They are representatives for the school, attending and speaking at major events in the life of the school, from Open Evening to Presentation Evening
Each year we have several special roles on the team. Our Inclusion Ambassadors are Arifa Usha, Damion Austin and Amira Fatima. The role has been streamlined this year helping to promote equality and access to opportunities for all our students. As well as assisting with the move up to secondary school for Year 7 students, the ambassadors should also be involved with extra curricular activities, supporting students with special education needs and disabilities, and promoting the social skills, kindness and friendship of students throughout the school.
Our Ambition Ambassadors are Loki Sanderson and Abdul Hadi Ahmed. Their new role will seek to raise aspirations for students as they progress through school. They will support varied experiences out of school including university visits.
