Re: Partial Closure of The Radclyffe School, Involving Year 9 Students Only
Dear Parents and Carers,
As you will be aware, the coronavirus outbreak continues to have a devastating impact on our daily lives. Following the updated advice from the government yesterday directing individuals who are showing symptoms, whose family members are showing symptoms or who have existing medical conditions to self-isolate, a large number of staff from the school are no longer able to attend.
Due to the high level of confirmed staff absences on Wednesday 18th March, the decision has been made that Year 9 students will not attend school but instead study from home. All other year groups should still attend school as normal. This situation will continue to be monitored on a daily basis, please check back each evening for daily updates.
As outlined in my letter of last week, work for students asked to stay at home will be available online via our ‘Frog’ website. Please click the link for more information and guidance on how your child can access this work: https://theradclyffeschool.co.uk/homelearning/
I apologise for the additional strain that this decision will create, coming as it does at a time when all families are facing exceptional challenges. The school will do everything it can to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and we also promise to keep you fully up to date with all developments.
Yours faithfully,
Mr J Cregg
Headteacher
