Dear Parents and Carers,
Further to my letter yesterday we continue to have an increasing number of teaching and support staff who are unable to attend school at the moment due to the impact of the coronavirus outbreak. We will always endeavor to keep the school open for as many students as possible but have to ensure that we have sufficient staff to teach the young people as well as maintain our high standards of health & safety.
Due to the increased level of confirmed staff absences for Thursday 19th March, the decision has been made that students in Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9 will not attend school on Thursday but instead study from home. Year 10 and Year 11 students should still attend school as normal. Work for Year 7, 8 and 9 students will be set on Frog.
I would like to clarify that we do not have confirmed cases of the virus involving any of our school community and the reason for the partial closure is the shortage of available staff to teach and supervise our learners.
This situation will continue to be monitored on a daily basis: please check back each evening for updates.
As outlined in my letter of last week, work for students asked to stay at home will be available online via our ‘Frog’ website. Please click the link for more information and guidance on how your child can access this work: https://theradclyffeschool.co.uk/homelearning/
I once again apologise for the burden that this decision places on families but please be assured we are doing everything we can to stay open and provide the regular timetable and curriculum for the maximum number of learners.
Yours faithfully,
Mr J Cregg
Headteacher
