Since the start of term new uniform rules have been in place to ensure we maintain high standards. We would like to thank parents and students for your cooperation with the changes that the school has introduced.
The majority of our students look very smart and well presented, and daily wear their uniform correctly and with pride.
However there are still some students who fail to wear appropriate uniform or fail to bring a bag to school.
When students return from the half term holiday on Wednesday 6th November, any who are wearing incorrect uniform will be sent home to change into correct uniform and then return to school.
During period 1, teachers will check that students have:
- a school tie
- correct footwear
- correct skirt or trousers
- a bag
- correct socks
Any student without any of the above will be sent to the appropriate Year Manager who will contact parents to inform them that their child is being sent home.
Full details of the school uniform policy, including more information on the changes we are making this year can be seen on the school’s website at www.theradclyffeschool.co.uk/school-uniform
To remind you of the changes, zip or pullover hoodies are not allowed to be worn in school. Members of staff will confiscate hooded tops from any students wearing them, for six weeks or until parents or carers come to collect.
We would like to remind you that trainer socks and ankle socks are not allowed. Plain black socks that cover the ankle should be worn.
School trousers should also be tailored rather than tapered or skinny fit. For Year 7 students, trousers should have the school emblem. Please note it is not acceptable to sew emblem badges onto trousers or skirts.
No lines shaved in hair
Please be aware also that from Wednesday 6th November, students with lines shaved in their hair will be given a pass for that day. We will contact parents/carers to inform them that the lines need to be removed before the student returns the following day.
All period 1 teachers will check students’ hair for lines, and any who have them will be sent to the appropriate Year Manager for a day pass. Parents must then ensure that the lines are removed before their child returns to school the following day.
