Please read all the information below if you have received a message from school to say you have been allocated a laptop from the Department for Education.
Laptops will be available for collection on Monday 13th July and Tuesday 14th July during the following times:
10am to 1pm
2pm to 4pm
This is to minimise any contact between students who are attending school for lessons and students/parents/carers collecting laptops.
We will not be operating an advance booking system, you can arrive at school at any time within the time windows stated above.
We strongly advise that you arrive at school by car and park in the main school car park. If you are unable to arrive by car you must wait in the bike sheds by the student entrance.
In line with Government rules, if students or parents/carers are currently self-isolating, shielding or have any symptoms of coronavirus then you MUST NOT attend school to collect the laptop. We can arrange another date and time to collect the laptop at a later date when it is safe to do so, please contact us on ict.support@theradclyffeschool.co.uk or call us on 0161 622 3200. For more information about self-isolation rules please click here.
You must adhere to social distancing guidelines whilst on site and stay at least 2 metres apart from other families and staff.
A face covering may be worn for the collection, but it will need to be removed momentarily for the purposes of identification. For further guidance on the use of face coverings click here.
When you arrive on site to collect the laptop you should ring 0161 622 3235 where you should provide your child’s “Rad” number and name. Depending on the number of people that are already waiting you will then either be invited straight in to collect the laptop or placed on a list and asked to wait in your car/the bike shed. If you are asked to wait in your car then you will be called back when it is your turn to collect your laptop. If you are asked to wait please be patient. We will be working as fast as we can whilst maintaining health and safety procedures for students, parents/carers and staff. If you decide that you are unable to wait you will lose your place in the queue and will have to join the back of the queue on your return.
We will be operating 3 collection points from gazebo's from the small inner car park near student reception.
When you are invited in to collect the laptop you must enter through the pedestrian gates next to the bikes sheds and go straight to your collection point, the student who has been allocated the laptop must attend with ONE parent/carer only. The parent/carer must bring some identification which we can match to details we have on the student’s record. This can be a driving licence, passport or a council tax/utility bill with the address that we have registered in school. Failure to produce one of these pieces of identification or producing identification which does match the details we have on record will mean that we will be unable to handover the laptop.
As part of the handover process both the student and parent/carer will be asked to sign an acceptable use agreement. In order to speed up the process for everyone this agreement must be read before you arrive in school which will mean you can simply sign the agreement when you get to school.
Click here to view the agreement
Once the agreement is signed the student will be asked to login to the laptop. The login details the student needs to use are the same username and password that they use to login to the computers in school, Frog and their school email. (e.g. rad12345) If the student is unsure of their password they must contact us in advance on ict.support@theradclyffeschool.co.uk and we can reset it. Please include the "Rad" number and name of the student in the email to help us identify the student.
Once the student has successfully signed in to the laptop and all other steps have been successfully completed you can take the laptop home.
You must exit through the inner car park exit gates when you return to your car/walk home.
If you have any questions please email ict.support@theradclyffeschool.co.uk and we will try our best to respond before Monday morning. Please include the "Rad" number and name of the student in the email to help us identify the student.
