Any school file, any time, anywhere, on any device. Foldr allows The Radclyffe School to share documents, audio, and video with the whole school community. It is easy to access and easy to use.
You can use Foldr from any modern web browser by simply clicking on the icon in the student portal or by going to the web address:
https://foldr.theradclyffeschool.co.uk
Or if you want to use it on a mobile device, such as an iPad, Android tablet, or smart phone, you can download the free Foldr app.
If you do download the app for mobile devices or computers, the server address you will need is: foldr.theradclyffeschool.co.uk
Instructions for opening Foldr in your web browser
Go to https://foldr.theradclyffeschool.co.uk you will then be asked for your username and password. This is your school email address and the password you use to sign into your computers at school. (e.g. rad12345@trs-mail.co.uk).
If you have previously used your school email to login to some resources, it may already be available as an option to simply click on.
Once you are logged into Foldr, you will see a list of available drives. These are the same drives you will see when you login to computers in school. The H Drive is personal to each student and is where you save your own work, that cannot be seen by other students.
The Student Folder contains shared folders for work for that is shared by staff. Students cannot save to this folder, only access files from it.
Microsoft OneDrive is for use for those who have loaned a laptop from school and not saved their documents on the H drive.
If you don't have a school loaned laptop or a personal device with Microsoft Office installed, you can open these type of documents in the browser based equivalents by clicking on the "Edit with Microsoft Office 365" option.
The benefit of using these first two options is that any changes that are made are automatically saved back to your documents (only if opening files on the H drive)
If you have a different productivity suite installed on your device (such as OpenOffice) you may have to download the file before you can open it.
If you are using the Foldr app on an iOS device (iPhone/iPad) or Android device you can preview the documents on the device by tapping on them.
For Audio/Video files, if you only need to listen/watch them, you can stream them through the browser by clicking "View" instead of downloading the file.
To upload a file from a device to your H Drive
Then simply drag the file onto the browser window, the window will highlight a blue/green colour to show that is ready to upload. A blue circle to the left of the file being uploaded will show the percentage progress of the file upload.
It will change to a document icon once the upload is complete.
A copy of the file will then be on your H Drive and you can access the file when you are in school. You still have a copy of the original file on your computer/tablet..
Our virus and malware scanners are integrated into Foldr and check every file that is uploaded to our system, but please take care to only upload documents that are safe.
