If you do not have access to a laptop, desktop or tablet then the next best thing may be a games console such as a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X.
We are aware that many of our students have access to a games console at home. As long as it is connected to the Internet then it is possible to access the resources that are being provided by teachers through these consoles.
We have found that it is much easier to access the resources if you plug a keyboard into the console so things can be typed instead of relying on using the controller. The arrows on the screen can still be moved around using the console's controller.
The Radclyffe School has a number of keyboards that we are able to loan students if they do not already have one available. Please click on the link below and complete the short form below to request a keyboard. (In order to verify the students identity, they will need to login to this form using their school email address and password)
Please follow the steps below for guidance on how to access these resources on each console
PlayStation 4 (PS4)
Select (Internet Browser) from the content area. Press the
button, and then enter "https://theradclyffeschool.co.uk" in the address bar.
You can then login to Frog and student email to access your lesson resources and communicate with your teachers.
We believe that due to the age of the browser on the PS4 it does not support viewing recorded lessons on Microsoft Stream.
PlayStation 5 (PS5)
There is a "hidden" web browser built into the PlayStation 5.
Open the System Settings on the console, then the User Guide.
This will open up an online user manual inside a PS5 web browser page, meaning users need only to change the URL to https://theradclyffeschool.co.uk.
You can even pin the browser to the side of your screen similar to the new Share Screen ability. Once pinned, pressing the quick menu will force the browser to appear as an activity card so you can easily click on it without repeating the same message step over again. The card also has its own set of buttons that can refresh the page, go back, forward and even zoom in.
Xbox One or Xbox Series S/X
Press the Xbox button top-centre on the controller and navigate to the side menu’s My Games & Apps.
Now tap "See All" before scrolling down to Apps, which should present Microsoft Edge in the icons on the right-hand side.
Once opened, type in "The Radclyffe School" or "https://theradclyffeschool.co.uk"
You can then login to Frog, the School Gateway and your school email to access your lesson resources and communicate with your teachers.
Lessons are available from 9am every day and can be streamed through the devices as described via Frog. Students should complete their classwork using the exercise book that was posted home and then complete the feedback form. Students can communicate with their teachers via their school email.
