Exam Results

Exam results have been of a high standard in recent years and we aim to continue our success through hard work and dedication, aiding our ambition to become the best secondary school in the country.

GCSE Results Day is one of the highlights of the academic year for The Radclyffe School, as students and staff celebrate their GCSE achievements and successes.

On the 29th September 2013 it was announced that only first entry GCSE will count in the school performance tables. The decision of the Governing Body was to continue with the school’s early entry plans. This was because we believed that it was not in the best interests of the students to change what had been planned given that preparations for the November exams were well underway. The school continues to believe that giving many of our students the opportunity to sit external exams before the end of year 11 ensures that they are able to achieve the highest grade possible. We will be continuing to use early entries in English and Mathematics for the foreseeable future.

The consequence of this decision is that all official statistics on the DfE School and College Performance Tables do not reflect the actual achievements of our students (see http://www.education.gov.uk/cgi-bin/schools/performance/school.pl?urn=105738). This document (click here) provides the same information but with the final results achieved by our students highlighted, to reflect a more accurate picture of the performance of our students.

Direction of Travel

The progress the school has made over recent years is evident in the table below, which represents our direction of travel towards academic and personal excellence.
